My inspiration for this recipe came from our city trip to Berlin, almost 2 years ago. We were together for 6 months and it was Jens' birthday, so I surprised him with a city trip to Berlin. Jens' birthday is 1 July so I thought a city trip would be nice, but going to Southern Europe can be very hot, so I chose Northern Europe.
The night before his birthday I drove (with my suitcase and the tickets) to him. He thought that I wasn't coming and actually he was a bit grumpy that I couldn't come to his birthday. When I arrived I told him to pack a suitcase, because we had to leave to the airport that night to go away for a few days. Jens was overwhelmed of course, but eventually we had an amazing city trip. For the temperature, by the way, we could have gone to Southern Europe. Thanks to the heat wave it was 35 degrees Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) and that is pretty hot in a city without a beach or other water facility.
But we did find a very lovely hotspot in Berlin for a lovely breakfast. At that time I was not yet the foodie I am today, so unfortunately I do not remember the name of this cute lunchroom. This breakfast had been the inspiration for this recipe that I want to share with you today.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Amount: 1 portion
Peel the banana at last and cut in slices. You can also divide them over the plate. Add a splash of honey over the complete plate to add just a little more taste. This doesn't need to be much, just a little for the taste. If you already like the recipe and do not need the honey, that is fine as well.
I sincerely hope you will enjoy this healthy, fruity breakfast.
