Coffee granola with cacao
"And that is also why I thought of this recipe of this coffee granola, that way you will have your coffee and breakfast all in one."
Coffee granola with cacao. Breakfast with oatmeal really is my favorite just like a good cup of coffee is my favorite in the morning. Why not combine those two favorites in one healthy breakfast recipe? That resulted in this homemade granola with espresso and cocoa powder.
I never used to be a coffee drinker, I used to drink tea all the time. Until I was about 15 years old, I decided it was time to drink coffee. But I thought natural coffee was a bit to heavy to start with so I picked bags of instant cappuccino haha. And I liked that a lot, definitely with some sugar in it. I even remember going on a camping vacation with friends when we were 16 and we had to buy instant coffee specially for me. As time went by and I became older I also appreciated regular coffee more and more, although it did give me stomach pain every now and then. That is why I decided to stay with tea.
Until I had my first internship when I was 19 years and there was a coffee machine with a lot of options. And somehow my attention was again drawn to that cappuccino so I decided to have it. I was excited to taste it and honestly I really liked it.
Every now and then I had a cappuccino when we were going for a drink somewhere. But when the coffee was too strong it did give me stomach pain and somehow the coffee abroad is more strong than in the Netherlands, so that is why I barely drink coffee when I am abroad.
When I was at my past job I started my day always with a cappuccino from the coffee machine, not as good as a fresh one but still a good start of the day. And if you only have one cup of coffee each day you enjoy it even more intensely. And suddenly I realized I had a milk frother on our beautiful coffee machine at home. Funny that I never notices that before and always drank cappuccino at work.
A while ago already I made the switch from cappuccino into latte macchiato which I like even more and I make it myself every morning, fresh! And I enjoy that very much every morning, it is just one of the best moments to start the day with for me.
And of course I am not the only one who likes to wake up with a cup of coffee, because coffee just is a perfect start of the day which fits with a delicious breakfast. And that is also why I thought of this recipe of coffee granola, that way you will have your coffee and breakfast all in one.
