Food Diary - Breakfast in September
"If it gets a bit colder, and believe me it is at 6 in the morning when you walk outside, I always have cravings for apple and cinnamon."
Food diary - Breakfast in September. It was a month with a lot of variation when it comes to breakfast. I did not eat one breakfast twice per week and the week afterwards I varied again with those recipes and thought of some new ones as well.
I also bought press oranges quite often which made me drink a lot of fresh orange juice. Do you want to know more about what I take with my breakfast, like supplements, vitamines and minerals? You can read all about my morning ritual here.
It is even dark in the morning when I wake up and return from the walk with Leyla, so the pictures are a bit dark as well. Here you can see one of my favorites of this month. Dutch mini pancakes with apple, cinnamon and maple syrup. I love it so much! I could eat this everyday.
When it is getting a bit colder, and believe me it really is when you walk outside at 6 in the morning, I always have cravings for apple and cinnamon. So this also is one of my favorites when the weather is getting colder. An oatmeal porridge with apple and cinnamon. Super delicious and very filling as well.
Suddenly on a Sunday Morning when we were laying in bed I had cravings for french toast. I barely eat bread, but we had some left in the freezer. Jens does regularly eat bread. I made french toast with honey and cinnamon, super delicious! The picture is not that good, but the flavor was really good.
It had been a while since I went to the gym, but this month I finally went to yoga again and I loved it! I always say to myself to go more often. And because of intermittent fasting I had not had breakfast before yoga, but I did that afterwards. That meant this huge breakfast with gluten free pancakes, yogurt, granola, a smoothie and a kiwi and much more. It was SO good!
My parents in law came by on Sunday for a cup of coffee. It had been a while since they had been at our place, we usually go to their house. But my father in law has milk in his coffee and we didn't have that. So we went early on a Sunday morning to the supermarket, juts the two of us. But that is not a really good idea if you have not yet had your breakfast. There are so many freshly baked sandwiches and so many other tasty things. I only got myself one croissant haha and I enjoyed it so much! I compensated it with a bowl of yogurt for the nutrition. Balance is super important and that is why I can also enjoy something less healthy sometimes.
At last I made this lovely creation with yogurt, fresh granola, seeds, apple and cinnamon. I ate the rest of the apple that didn't fit in the bowl haha. Again a lovely combination. I really look per day what kind of breakfast I feel like having which makes it so diverse. Sometimes I look forward at night to the breakfast I will be having the next morning, while other days I am walking with Leyla in the morning thinking what breakfast I will be making. So also here balance and variation are really key for me. Because I work most of the days my breakfast is usually filled with a lot of nutrition. I have to wait until lunch to eat again without getting super hungry and that is also why I try to make a very healthy and nutritional breakfast.
