LOES in Papendrecht
"At LOES they inspire people with their passion for healthy food."
Healthy Hotspot Loes in Papendrecht. A while a go I got the tip from a colleague to have a look in this place. A few weeks ago the moment was finally there. Loes really is a place I would recommend for a nice breakfast, lunch or just to buy your bread. I will tell you all about it in this blog.
Louise Schalkwijk is the owner of Loes since November 2015. Her father Peter has very much experience in working at different bakeries. Since 2014 he has his own bakery, Sourdough Bakery Schalkwijk. He bakes his bread with as many organic ingredients as possible, all breads are made of 100% sour dough and without unnatural additions. Louise is interested in healthy food and when she finishes her education the opportunity to start her own business is suddenly there. That is how LOES is born. LOES is established in a street that has revived with lot of new stores.
The products from the bakery are sold in the store and they have several tables for people who want to have breakfast, lunch, a cup of coffee or a high tea. All dishes are made with as many organic ingredients as possible, without unnatural additions and completely home made.
You can take away home made spelt granola, breads and cake. At the tables on the in- and outside you enjoy a vegi sandwich for lunch, a brunch plate or a nice and refreshing smoothie. You can also order the bites from SUE. Everything is healthy and close to nature. A wonderful concept if you ask me. And I am not the only one because the concept of LOES is a big success. So big that LOES also has bought the neighbor building and will soon open there to let even more people enjoy there healthy breakfast, lunch, coffee and high tea.
This means that they can put down more tables and also expand the bakery section a bit more. In November they hope to have open the doors, because they also are open for 2 years in that month.
They thought of every detail. They have tea from Teapig, an English brand. This brand makes pure, organic tea and they only use the flowers and the leaves from the tea. They don't mix roots or stems, which other tea producers do sometimes. Louise also sells local products, like for example fresh roasted coffee beans from the City distillery from Dordrecht. All products they sell fit in the concept. And also the staff from Loes has the same passion for healthy food
Even though Louise is only 22 years old, she knows exactly what she wants. She has a real passion for healthy food and it is beautiful to see that passion in very detail.
At LOES they inspire people with their passion for healthy food and of course everything also has to be super delicious and believe me when I say it really does. They take the people with them in their story and try to teach the customers something about healthy food and making more healthy choices.
This definitely a very nice spot to visit when you are in Papendrecht.
And what I almost forgot to tell was that I got the cranberry/almond sourdough bread from Louise. We enjoyed it very much and you must really try this one when you are at Loes. We even ate it all in one day with the two of us. We really loved so I would definitely recommend that one.
