Lactose free strawberry milkshake, a delicious and healthy refreshment during a warm day.
So this week we will have a Milkshake Monday instead of Smoothie Sunday.
It was super warm in the Netherlands this week. I will definitely not complain about it, because I love summer and warm weather, although I didn't think 36 degrees Celsius (96.80 Fahrenheit) was really necessary for me. At work we had the air conditioning on, which we didn't set too cold, because otherwise the shock would be too big if we went outside, in the car I also had my air conditioning on. But when I came home the shock was there. Because we don't have any air conditioning at home and the heat stays in our home for a long time because we have a terraced house. So when I arrived home it was 31 degrees Celsius inside (87.80 Fahrenheit) very hot. Even though I like when it is warm I preferred it a bit less warm inside the house. Thursday and Friday night it lasted until 10 o'clock then the temperature started to drop a bit, still 30 degrees (86 Fahrenheit), even though all windows and doors were open. A bit sweaty to sleep but I am definitely not complaining. Maybe we should get a van when it stays this warm, that is also very nice for Leyla because she is really hot definitely with her fur. To cool her a bit down we made a towel moist on which she could lay down and she did that perfectly for the picture, but she did not really like laying on a wet thin. Although she did lay her head on it when she went to sleep.
Thursday night I went to sit outside with my coloring book haha and actually I enjoyed it very much. I didn't want to spend the night with a warm laptop on my lap. For Leyla it was good that is was a bit cooler during the weekend, although I would love to see the sun come back again. This week the weather will be warm again and if you want to cool down a milkshake is a perfect idea. Always when I went to McDonalds which is probably already 4 years ago and I went 1 time per year maximum I chose chicken nuggets with fries and a vanilla milkshake and enjoyed it immensely. While I am typing this I again crave that milkshake very much. But I just looked it up and that vanilla milkshake consists of sugar for 58%, it makes me want it a lot less right away. Not that I don't eat sugar anymore at all, but I choose consciously and I consciously chose my 'enjoy' moments in the week. This week at work we got the chance to buy Italian ice cream and I definitely don't say no to that and I enjoyed it very much and in the evening I took a very filling salad to keep the balance.
With this kind of weather it is not only time for ice cream, but also for a milkshake and with this easy recipe you make it in the blink of an eye.
