Mandarin smoothie with grapefruit
"You can leave the white membranes of the mandarin on it, because of the blending you won't notice them anymore."
Mandarin smoothie with grapefruit and coconut milk, a nice and healthy smoothie on this Smoothie Sunday.
This week there is a fresh combination on Smoothie Sunday. This smoothie is filled with a lot of vitamin C which makes it super healthy. Grapefruit is naturally quite sour, but the sweet mandarins and coconut milk compensate the flavors, which give this smoothie a lovely sweet taste.
I remember when I was a kid together with my mother and sister we just cut grapefruits in half and eat them with a spoon and I just loved that. Nowadays I don't even want to think about it, but it surely is a vitamin C boost. When I press some fresh orange juice, I regularly mix a grapefruit through, which gives a nice twist to your orange juice. I saw these grapefruits last week and I knew I wanted to make a smoothie with them. I had to improvise a bit with the rest of the ingredients, but that turned out very well. I just like it so much to just buy some fruit and vegetables, put them in the blender and see where it ends. And I must say that nine out of ten times it ends pretty good. Up till now I only had one smoothie that I really did not like. That was because of 2 pieces of fruit I mixed with both quite strong flavors and that flavors didn't match very well together. Because this grapefruit also has a strong flavor I decided to go for more soft flavors to combine with. Will you be making this smoothie today?
