Personal month overview
"Leyla was filled with adrenaline and had some small wounds on her belly, enough reasons for us to drive to the beach."
Personal month overview September. This month I was working a lot on my E-book, but besides that I also did a lot of other fun things. Are you curious what my month looked like?
I started the month in the weekend with a nice lunch with a friend of mine. We had not seen each other for way to long, so it really was time to catch up. We went to Goes, to my favorite spot Taart & Tafel (Cake and Table). A nice place where you can enjoy healthy cake, but the lunch is also really delicious. I went for a grilled cheese sandwich and my friend had quiche. Besides the fact we had lunch we also went shopping together. A perfect Saturday if you ask me.
A busy weekend, because on Sunday my parents in law came over. That meant that I was baking an apple pie on Saturday, because I always like to bake when people come over. But in the morning we found out we didn't have rose and coffee milk. So after we cleaned the house we went to the supermarket. But we found out that going grocery shopping on an empty stomach is not a really good idea. For me I took one croissant and Jens took 2 crusty bread rolls and a pain au chocolat. I made him two Hawaian bread rolls out of the oven. I covered the crusty bread rolls with a slice of (organic) ham, next some pineapple parts and covered it with some cheese and put it in the oven. Super delicious, because the cheese will melt and you have a lovely breakfast. Jens really liked it as well. But because we went grocery shopping and eating breakfast, the time went by really quick. So I had to grab a quick shower before my parents in law arrived already. It was really nice, they had not been to our place in a while, so we had a lot of fun.
Leyla was filled with adrenaline and had some small wounds on her belly, enough reasons for us to drive to the beach. On the beach we played with her and she could run and swim to release all her energy. I always love to see her having so much fun. It really was a perfect day!
This month we also ate with my parents and sister once. We try to do this regularly, because we are all really busy and don't see each other that often. A few days before we were having dinner, my mum wanted to know what we were going to eat and I felt like eating tapas, so that is what we did. Everybody made something and we had bread with spreads and dips and had a really nice evening with a lot of nice and fun conversations. I always like to make some extra time for each other in a way like this. And my sweet sister had looked at all her clothes and gave the clothes she didn't like anymore to me. Like for example this shirt and of course I had to send her a picture of how it looked on me. I got 4 other shirts and I am very happy with it. I love to vary with my clothes.
Something completely different, Jens ordered this book for me. He was listening to somebody who knows a lot about nutrition and he was telling about this writer and that these books were the starting point for him to learn more about nutrition and health. Jens had no doubt and ordered this book and two others for me. Really special, because these books are no longer sold in store and are from the '70's. He could find them secondhand on the internet and I am really grateful for that. This book is extremely interesting. I read the last page yesterday and I just couldn't stop reading. The writer is Canadian and lives half of the time in Europe and the other half of the time in America. In Europe we are much more aware of healthy food, the effect of nutrition on our health and preventing diseases instead of only curing them. He did a lot of research and wrote everything down in this book. Really interesting and even though I know quite something about nutrition this book made some pieces of the puzzle fall on their place. I am going to figure out a way to share this information with you as well, because I really feel I should. What I found most interesting was that a lot of things didn't chagne between the '70s and now.
I drove to work and I saw this beautiful rainbow. I always find rainbows really special, it looks so amazing, but is also always gives me a special feeling. My grandfather passed away 10 years ago, the weather on the day of the funeral was not really pretty. We stood at his grave, the sun came through and an amazing rainbow appeared. I will never ever forget that moment and always think back to it when I see a rainbow and always feel like my grandfather is with me when I see a rainbow.
When I have to work on Friday, which is every other Friday, my colleagues usually buy a sandwich. I don't always do that, I usually have my own lunch with me, but when I had no lunch inspiration this Friday morning I decided to join them. I went to buy them to make a good choice what I wanted to have. Even before I entered the restaurant I saw a sign outside with a sandwich of the month and decided that was what I would be having. A sandwich with ham (I believe Parma or Prosciutto), goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes and caramelized pecans out of the oven. It was super delicious!
Last week on Saturday finally the moment was there for my sister and me to have lunch with our grandmother for her birthday, which was at the end of April haha. But we finally found a date that would suit everybody and after my sister send me the menu, the only thing I could think of was a grilled cheese sandwich with ketchup haha. I decided to have that even though so many other delicious things were on the menu. We ate really nice and finally had time to catch up, really nice to do that every once in a while.
It really was a nice month with a lot of fun things and a good balance. Not too busy, but fun. This month will also be really busy. It is Sunday, but I have already had such a busy weekend. Friday night we had a personnel party from my work on an amazing location with delicious food. I was in bed at 1.30 in the morning and yesterday I had to work all day. For work I was at the day of the Science from 10.00 until 16.00 and helped over 200 children to make a pendant for a necklace. It was fun, but I was extremely tired afterwards haha. So today will be really relaxed and tomorrow I also took the day off to have bit of a weekend. I am looking forward to the rest of the month and what it will bring me, but you will read all about that in the next month overview.
