"I knew upfront that I would have to attend a difficult training, but I had postponed that a bit until November."
Personal update, I love to tell you everything about what I am doing and why it is less busy on the blog than I would want it to be.
Let's start at the beginning, in February I started a new job and I very much like it. I knew upfront that I would have to attend a difficult training, but I had postponed that a bit until November. The training contains 3 complete lecture days in school (every other week on Friday) and the previous starting date was in June and I was onholiday that time so was not an option. The next time was now and when it comes to timing that is also not very ideal, but when is the perfect time for something like that?! I I wasn't too thrilled to go anyway, mostly because it was primarly focussed on labour law and that was not my favorite subject in school.
I started 2 November and the first lesson turned out to be fun actually, because the information is quite boring I was afraid the lessons would also be boring and take long, but that was not the case at all. The teacher is telling stories in a nice way and we work a lot in couples on assignments. I also noticed that I already know quite some things from my former job and my current job, but still it does mean I have to learn a lot. And as I always want to do everything perfect I am learning almost every weekend, practicing and making summaries and I am just hoping to pass my exam on 17 December.
In the weekends my focus is (unfortunately) on learning for the exam, I really want to finish it the first time and I have to make 2 online exams for a certain date to show that I know the theory and that point is also going to my boss. Enough reasons for me to fully focus on the study and learn in the weekends, even though I don't like that at all. The reason I also don't like it, is because I have a lot of Sinterklaas* recipes in my head, but I simply don't have time to make them. The evenings are also busy because at work this is the time of the year of open evenings, fairs, networking events so I also regularly work in the evenings and when I arrive home it is getting dark already and I also don't really feel like baking something at that time.
And honestly I don't like that at all. I want to work on my blog as much as possible and make and create as many recipes as possible, but that is just not always possible. I have an almost fulltime job besides my blog or a blog besides my job, it depends on the way you look at it haha. And I do notice that I find it difficult to be able to combine the two properly and it bothers me the most. Because I sincerely wonder if you have noticed that there are a bit less blogs online the past few weeks, probably not. But I do feel that I am not working enough on my blog and finding that balance is something that I struggle with. Because if you look straight into my heart you will see that I want to be in the kitchen every moment of the day and be working at my laptop afterwards to be able to inspire you with all those lovely, healthy recipes, but that is not always possible and sometimes that frustrates me.
*The Sinterklaas fest is a Dutch fest for children, they believe that this old man and his helpers bring gifts. When the kids are a sleep the helpers go through the chimneys to put gifts in the shoes of the kids and on 5 December when it is the birthday of Sinterklaas they celebrate that on 'presents evening' sometimes Sinterklaas and his helpers come by that evening and sometimes they just knock on the door and leave big bags with presents at the door. The kids get their presents and a lot of treats are being eaten, mostly with a lot of gingerbread spices in it.
Even though I was busy there are also some things that I am able to manage on my blog, just like the free Sinterklaas E-book (which is currently only available in Dutch). I had though about this free E-book that I wanted to make to inspire as many people as possible to make healthy Sinterklaas recipes And because I am quite busy and managed to release this E-book there was no time for other recipes, but believe me when I say they are on the way. This weekend I have a bit more time to make another Sinterklaas recipe and after 17 December I have all the time because my exam will be finished and in the week of Christmas I am only working 2 days and the week after that I have a free week. So a lot of free days that I will be mostly spending in the kitchen to make a whole lot of new inspiration for you guys. If you also want to receive the FREE Sinterklaas E-book you can leave your mail address in the box below and you will receive it in your email, as I said it is currently only available in Dutch.
I really hope that this blog has given you some insights on how it sometimes does not work for me as well and my resolution for the next year is to be able to free more time for my blog and really stand for it. But that will turn out well because there will be another nice cooperation that will be expanded next year.
